Duke Nepal’s cultural tour takes you to the exploration of the vibrant Kathmandu valley with its temples, heritage sites, and Alley Street in each Durbar squares. At the same time shopping and exploring the old market of Kathmandu helps you in understanding the lifestyle of people in Nepal.

The cultural tour package also includes the outside valley excursion and we take you to Pokhara, Chitwan, Lumbini, and Nagarkot.

Pokhara

Pokhara Bazaar is the old Newar city before when it was not linked with Prithvi Highway. Previously, the city used to be the trade route for Butwal and Mustang. Pokhara is the second most popular destination for visitors after Kathmandu. And as well as is the main gateway for the trekkers into the Annapurna region. The place is also the headquarters for rafters, kayakers, paragliders, and mountain bikers. Much lower than the capital, at 800m above sea level, the climate is pleasant but occasionally humid. The place is cooler than the plains in summer and warmer than Kathmandu in winter.

The Phewa Tal (Lake), known among locals as the Pokhara shining lake is the main attraction for those visiting. By Dung(Boat) one can reach the Tal Barahi, a Hindu temple to Devi the goddesses of strength and power. On the lakeside one can find several restaurants, bars, hostels, and hotels at a startling variety of prices. Across the lake, one can view Macchapucchre (fishtail), in one of the hotels or restaurants that populate its banks. One can also find peaceful nature through hikes and walking in the countryside.

Chitwan

Chitwan National Park is one of the world’s heritage property which lies in the southern part of Nepal. The park contains a Ramsar Site – Beeshazari Tal in its buffer zone.  Similarly, it is a rich natural area in the Terai region, the subtropical southern part of Nepal. A total of 68 species of mammals, 544 species of birds, 56 species of herpetofauna, and 126 species of fish is recorded in the park. The park is famous for its protection of One Horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tigers, and Gharial Crocodiles.

Lumbini

The birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha lies in the Terai region of Nepal. It is the pilgrimage site for the Buddhists which is in the center of the Rupendhei District. The adventures ten hours of drive from Kathmandu will take you to the home of several international monasteries. According to the Buddhist tradition, it is the place where Queen Mayadevi gave birth to the Siddartha Gautam who achieved enlightenment around 500BCE. Furthermore, Lumbini has many temples which including the Mayadevi Temple. Holy Pond also lies here where the Buddha’s mother took the ritual dip before his birth.

Nagarkot

Nagarkot located 32 Km east-west of Kathmandu is an ancient fort of the Kathmandu valley. Furthermore, it was built to protect the kingdoms from threats posed by neighboring kingdoms. Later this ancient fort became a summer retreat for the royal family and has now become an international hill station to colloquial.

Accessibility

These all four destinations namely Kathmandu,  Pokhara, Chitwan, and Lumbini are connected via airways making them more accessible for wheelchair users. Similarly, these destinations are connected via roadways so anybody has the choice to choose from these two modes of transportation. Tourist buses to Chitwan and Pokhara are available from Kathmandu every day at 7 AM. Lumbini is accessible from Chitwan through Tourist Bus. In the course of visiting the attractions in these destinations, one can hire a bus, car, or jeep as per the need and comfort. Similarly, Nagarkot is 2 hrs drive from Kathmandu.

Accommodation

Different levels of hotels and restaurants are easily available in these destinations. From budget hotels to star-rated hotels, these destinations offer plenty of choices. Lavish food to locally produced foods is available here. There are fewer hotels that are handicapped friendly but the situations are getting better here.  ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu.

Arrival in Kathmandu & Transfer to Hotel.

Day 2: Full Day Kathmandu Valley Cultural tour.

This full-day sightseeing trip will combine various monuments, cultural and heritage sites within the valley- Boudhanath a Buddhist stupa, Pashupatinath and Hindu Temple, Patan durbar square, Swoyambunath, a Buddhist and Hindu Shrine, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka Museum, and Kumari (virgin) living goddess temple.

Day 3: Drive to Pokhara

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. You could enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields, and people being engaged in their daily life activities. You can also fly to reach there. Checked in hotel and refreshment, Here, one can sail or row a hired boat across visit the island temple in the middle of the lake. Overnight at hotel

Day 4: Pokhara Sightseeing

Early morning visit Sarangkot Sunrise tour and back to hotel and afternoon excursion around the valley. The sightseeing trip includes visits to all these exotic places. Phewa Lake is the center of all attractions it is the largest and most enchanting of three lakes. The eastern shore, popularly known as Lakeside or Baidam, is the favorite haunt of all travelers’ restaurants, handicraft shops and other facilities are located. Day 5: Drive to Chitwan ( Chitwan National Park)

Drive to Chitwan by Car / Coach Depending on the group size and your preferences, Lunch at the hotel, you can visit the local Tharu village around the lodge and can explore living style, language, and many more. At night, you could watch Tharu cultural program; one of the cultural treasures of Nepal.

Day 6: Full day Jungle Safari inside the national park (In community forest too)

Full-day Jungle Safari: - Elephant ride, Jungle walk, canoeing, Bird watching, Elephant Breeding center visit, and Tharu Museum, etc., and overnight at the safari lodge.

Day 7: Drive to Lumbini

192 km scenic drive to Lumbini, Checked in the hotel, after lunch: you can go to UNSECO site Lumbini. Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha situated in the terrain plains of southern Nepal, where Siddhartha Gautam, the Shakya prince was born. Nowadays, the holy site is being developed as the supreme Buddhist pilgrimage site and a symbol of world peace.

Day 8: Drive to Kathmandu

After Breakfast, drive or flight to Kathmandu. Check-in at Kathmandu hotel and Farewell Dinner from Duke Nepal Adventure.

Day 9: Drive to Nagarkot

After Breakfast, you will move to Nagarkot, one of the ancient and historically important villages of Nepal via Bhaktapur. After reaching Nagarkot you will have standard lunch and will take a village tour to observe the culture of residents. After a long day village tour of agro-tourism, we will return to Kathmandu and stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 10: Departure to your Next Destination.

Transfer to airport departure onward Journey to home
