Day by Day Detail Itinerary of Poonhill Mardi Combo Trek.

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara.

It is a 6 hours drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara in Private Vehicle or you can also take a Public Tourist Bus. Moreover, you can also take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. It will take only half an hour. 

Day 2: Drive to Tikhedhunga and Trek to Ulleri.

From Lakeside Pokhara, It will take 2 hours to reach Nayapul. It will be an on-road trip. After Nayapul, It will take 1 hour to reach Tikhedhunga in a Private 4wd Jeep which will be a totally off-road trip. From Tikheghunda, it will take two and half more hours to reach ulleri which is a totally uphill trek.

Day 3: Trek to Ghorepani

From Ulleri, the actual Ghorepani Poonhill trek will start. We will trek through the dense forest crossing small rivers and small Gurung and Magar villages listening to the chirping sound of birds. It will take 5 hours to reach Ghorepani which is one of the biggest Magar settlements in the Annapurna Area.

Day 4: Hike up to Poonhill and Trek to Tadapani.

Poonhill is the vantage point for the sunrise and mountain view. We will wake up early in the morning and hike up to Poonhill for the early view. It will take 2 hours to reach Poonhill from Ghorepani. The Ghorepani area is abundant with Rhododendron trees where you can encounter different species of Rhododendron with different colors while trekking to Tadapani.

Day 5: Trek to Ghandruk.

Gandruk is one of the most famous and biggest Gurung settlements in the Annapurna Region which you can reach only in 3 hours from Tadapani. You can visit the whole village for the rest of the day. Ghandruk is also the starting trekking destination for Annapurna Base Camp Trek.

Day 6: Trek to Landruk.

Landruk is the neighboring village of Ghandruk which is smaller than Ghandruk. Due to this, Landruk is also known as the small brother of Ghandruk. It will take almost 4 hours to reach Landruk from Ghandruk from which you have to trek down to the Madi river and trek up from the river. You have to trek downhill and uphill for the whole day. 

Day 7: Trek to Low Camp Via Forest Camp.

From Landruk, we have to trek 2 hours uphill to catch the Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek. There is only one tea house on the way. Once we reach Forest Camp, it will take 3 more hours to reach Low Camp.

Day 8: Trek to High Camp

High Camp is the last point in the Mardi Base Camp trek where we will get tea houses for accomodation. We have to trek via Badal Danda to reach High Camp from Low Camp. Badal Danda is one of the stunning places enroute to Mardi Base Camp where we will have lunch. 

Day 9: Hike up to Mardi Base Camp and Trek back to Rescue Camp.

Mardi Base Camp lies at an altitude of 3580 meters from sea level and is the best place to explore the Fishtail Himal face to face. You will never encounter such a stunning view of Fishtail Himal from a place in the Annapurna Region in comparison to Mardi Himal Base Camp. En route to MBC, there are two viewpoints: upper viewpoint and lower viewpoint. You can also enjoy the view of mystic mountains from there if you are unable to reach MBC. There is one teahouse in Rescue Camp which lies between Low Camp and Forest Camp. 

Day 10: Trek Back to Australian Base Camp Via Pothana

From Rescue Camp, it will take 6 hours to reach Australian Base Camp. Pathana lies en route to Australian Base Camp from Rescue Camp which is a very beautiful small settlement in the southern part of the Annapurna Region.

Day 11: Trek Back to Kande and Drive Back to Pokhara

From Australian Base Camp, it is only a one-hour trek to Kande which is the starting point of the Mardi Himal Trek. From Kande, we will take a private vehicle for Pokhara which is only a 1 and half-hour drive.
