Balthali is the new destination for local and international tourist from the past few years. The place lies in the eastern part of Kathmandu which is 42 Km from the city. The regular bus from bus station leaves in an hour, which stops in its last destination Panauti bazzar. People believes that Panauti lies on one single rock. The town is populated by the Newar people. Similarly, the temples, monuments, community shelters can be seen everywhere. The wide courtyards and the remnants of the ancient Durbar square can be seen still in the center of the town. If someone waits for a while, then they can also get a bus for the Khopasi which is the starting point for the hike to Balthali. Panauti, Khopasi & Baithali is the blog for those wants to dig deep into hidden valleys of Nepal.

Similarly, during the hike one can get a chance to see Nepal’s one of the oldest Hydroelectricity projects. The holy man’s village and a terrace field are the next attraction of the hike. The thick forest with plentiful floras, colorful rhododendron and Sal trees covers the hills. The panoramic view of the Himalaya in the north will greet anyone. Furthermore, the major attraction of the Balthali village is a typical Tamang village, Dada Gaun, where a Buddhist Community lives. Here people and animals live together side by side. The walk to Pada Gaun which lies in 2100 is very useful for where the spectacular views of the whole Himalayan range to north and the beautiful green forest of Mahabharat is seen.
